The exhibition “The heritage. Estates” presented 7 works, one of which was made by Yulia in the technique of encaustic painting on the same place where Isaac Levitan wrote his famous work “The Istra River”. Yulia is one of the few artists who paint in this ancient painting technique and promote the technique in Russia.
The place chosen for the exhibition is of great historical significance. Chekhov and Levitan often stayed here, took walks, admiring the local nature, and painted their works. Levitan: “I can’t wait to see poetic Babkino: all my dreams are about it.”. Dialogues that took place at the time of Chekhov and Levitan could be heard in reality with the immersive audio-performance.
